Youth Indoor House League

End of Season Recap

Our 2018/2019 Youth Indoor House League was capped off this past weekend with 3 well-enjoyed, well-attended and competitive tournaments.

We started with our U9-11 Division Tournament on Saturday morning. The competition was tight all throughout the 6 Round Robin games, which resulted in the Orange and Blue teams facing off in a Consolation Game while the Red and Grey Teams went head to head in the Final. The season came to an exciting and exhilarating end when the Red team scored the game winning goal after 30 minutes of regular play, 10 minutes of Golden Goal overtime play, and a 5-player shootout. It was truly a wonderful way to end a great season.

Our U12-13 Division Tournament followed suit on Saturday afternoon with a 3-team Round Robin Tournament. The competition was high as the 3-teams played through 3-30 minute Round Robin games which saw 2 teams playing back-to-back games. The Red and Blue teams, each with a few additional players from the Orange team, faced off in the Final Game. In the end, Red was victorious. However, the fun was shared by all three teams.

Despite Mother Nature's best efforts, our U6-8 Division Tournament took place Sunday morning, with many of our players and families making it out to the game. Although playing on a much larger field then they were used to, our U6-8 players came out strong and battled their way through 3-games of Round Robin play. The Red and Orange teams faced off in a nail-biting game which was tied until seconds before the buzzer when Orange scored the game-winning goal. Each of our teams played their best and, most importantly, had fun.

Finally, our U14-17 Division ended their season on a bit more of a relaxed note.  Although not many players made it out, those who did brought the season to a pleasant end with a challenging but entertaining 60-minute game.

On behalf of myself and the KLSC, we would like to thank all of the players and their parents for coming out this season and taking part in the Youth Indoor House League. I, like many of the other members of the KLSC, took this position for love of the game. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing players and parents come out every week and enjoy the same. We hope to see many, if not all, of you back out next year.

We would also like to thank our Coaches who volunteered to guide our young players. Without you, the League wouldn't be possible. Special thanks goes out to Amy Coultice who, single-handedly, ran the entire U14-17 Division.

Looking for Volunteer Coaches

This program could not run without the support of parents that volunteer their time to coach one of our house league teams.  We need approximately 14-18 people to step up and coach this season.  No soccer knowledge or experience is necessary!  If you are interested, please click the link below to apply!
