2018 AWARD WINNERS

Greg Cooke - Volunteer Recognition Award
Greg started helping at his son's practices by kicking stray soccer balls back onto the pitch from behind the net at soccer practice.  The next season he reliably brought the team bench to all games.  Eventually Greg stepped into the role of co-manager, followed by taking the needed courses to become the assistant coach in the last season the team played together.  For his ongoing dedication to a youth KLSC Greg Cooke was nominated and awarded a 'volunteer recognition award' in 2019.  Thank you Greg!

Nathan Devos-Dunn - Match Official of the Year Award
Nathan has been refereeing as an assistant referee for the KLSC for a number of years; however this past year was his first year as an official where he was eligible to be in the middle for youth competitive games. Watching him officiate games from the middle of May through to the end of August was incredible to see how much he grew as a referee. Nathan was almost always available and was eager to pick up as many games as possible which greatly contributed to the experience he was able to gain over the course of the season. From managing difficult players and coaches to growing in the confidence necessary to officiate a recreational men's game at the end of the summer, Nathan proved that he was a deserving recipient of our Match Official of the Year award.
